Hey guys! Its been ages since i have posted, uni has kept me very busy lately! Hope everyone is well :)

Last Friday some friends and I headed up to Lake Mountain, which is an area that was taken by the bush fires at the start of the year. Its snowing up there now and it is really very beautiful.

Gorgeous images. I love the contrast between the white snow and the burnt wood.

I used to enjoy cross country skiing up there about 25 years ago when I lived near Melbourne.

Nice images Nathan. For me though I would like to see more dof in the first so I can see more of the texture in the wood and the first patch of snow.

I was actually thinking of cropping the lower part of the first image to reduce the amount of out of focus area...

I wouldn't because the image works as is. The eyes travelled towards the sharp area, which seems to fit perfectly the rule of thirds. It works in terms of contrast of dark/white, blur/sharp and textures. The second image is not as complex, but it is also very nicely done.

I Couldn't agree more with rooz- number one's the winner. Your eye travels down the angled burnt wood and the suns rays at the back add a really nice interest pint for the background. Really nice shot.

The first really is a stunner! I agree about a crop just to remove a bit of the OOF area at the top but I would be very proud with this one!
