After arriving at Mungo NP camp area on dark, we set out the next morning to have a look around. The weather was moving in, so it looked like being a bleak photography day. By the afternoon the cloud cover was still hanging around & it still wasn't ideal lighting conditions at all, but I still tried to make the best of it.

On the drive out to the 'Wall', the day was looking bleak, so i started chasing rainbows ( sorry, I had use that line )



One of the earlier shots over the lunette when a hint of sunshine managed to poke it's nose through the clouds, with showers moving across the 'lake' in the background. In hindsight, I'm now softening towards this over my other lunette shots in more favourable early evening light.

I really like that second image, but think a slight curves adjustment may give it a little more pop.

Nice shots. They lack a little punch imho so I would like to see a little extra contrast to take away that slightly flat look. I do like the composition on #1 I think you have balanced the rainbow well with the fence posts.

Done. Altered the levels slightly as suggested, and thanks. I think it looks a little improved. A bit more punch?

I gave similar a adjustment to that one as well. Thanks craig.
The fence posts were only a prop to hold the rainbow up there in frame, sorta like a claytons tripod.

Here's a quick change on the image from me using Lightroom. If you don't want me posting your edited image just say so and I'll delete it. The idea is to bring out the detail in the erosion.



The lightroom changes are shown below. The graduated filter was used to darken the sky by reducing the exposure slightly on that part of the image to compensate for the brightness changes made globally in the image.

Made the changes suggested, also in lightroom. It's added the missing punch in the lunette.

Glad I could help - remember though that they need to look right to you as well No one has a monopoly on being right.

That second shot has so much to offer , all those angles, good find!

I like the second picture because of the contrast between fore and background.
