Two animal photos..Eagle is from a trip to Alaska last month, and dog is practicing bouncing flash - my trusty SB400! If anyone wants to gift a SB600 or higher I'll send you my address! (:
C&C - much obliged. Scott Vander Dussen
Re: Two animal photos..Scott,
The eagle shot is fantastic. You have captured the moment so well and it obvious exactly where the eagle is heading. The composition is brilliant. The only nit (and this is so minor it could be ignored) is the slight loss of detail in the top of the head due to highlights. The dog is brilliant, too. The look in its eye suggests that its an unwilling model. You have managed to retain a lot of detail in the darker areas.

Re: Two animal photos..Certainly agree the Eagle is brilliant .. but for me the dog shot has such nice contrast & DOF that it captures real emotion

Re: Two animal photos..WoW!!! what a shot I hope you have got the eagle printed and hanging on the wall!!!
The dog is very nice too, but I don't like the whites just underneath him and in his left eye, would love to see the original. "Old school" (Olympus OM 1&2SP )
Re: Two animal photos..They are both absolute stunners, the capture in the first is sensational - i imagine there was a substantial amount of patience involved here! Was that fish alive?
The second image is also amazing, the facial expression of teh dog is so forlorn! great foresight for the BW conversion gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Two animal photos..They are both great, The eagle is outstanding.
Great work Scott! Doug So many toys, so little time....
Re: Two animal photos..The eagle is a great catch!
