Just a quick post for your review & critique... These are "as shot" from the light painting outing this evening!





Curious to see what the others got...

Nice sharp shots, well lit indeed.
I'd love to know more about the lighting setup or how you achieved these great results. Obviously you told the car to stay very very still

The car, btw, was a '66, 289.

This type of photo is my next experiment.

Did you use a softbox or some sort of diffusion for the light? If so what did you use?
I've brought a cheap 128 LED light to try out. Hopefully it does the job.

We had a few softboxes and were using a variety of different light sources (High powered LED torch, SB-600 flash, LED lamp).

i Realy want to lern how to do this. does anyone have a GOOD tutorial. i can onyl find tutorials with very very little info.

yeah you definitely need something to diffuse the light with - probably a homemade number would suffice, however Servaas has some good softboxes at some great prices, unfortunately he is out of stock until the end of september. Dragon image in sydney have them also but are more expensive.

Realistically it is not that hard, a decent LED torch and softbox and your away. Some trial and error and you will quickly work out what works for you and your gear, try on your car or similar.

I think Gerry has said it all.

I would strongly recommend a way of getting BULB from your camera. Gives you heaps of time to muck around rather than be limited by 30 seconds.
