All the images I took before I bought this lens suck

I went out to buy a 17-55, thought I could talk myself down to a Tamron 17-50, somehow ended up with a Nikon 24-70 f2.8. Not sure how that happened.

Luckily I had a model or 3 handy to try it out on.

tis a great performing lens. not just in its optical performance but the startling speed of the AF. once you have one of these, whenever i use something like an 85/1.4 i feel like launching it out the window cos they are slow as all hell in comparison.

Absolutely amazing image! The 24-70 is definitely worth the money!

I have to give my loaner back to Geoff, and, whilst I couldn't get the focus trapping technique to work, I found the lens, with its blistering AF and razor sharpness a joy to use. It also has a reasonably impressive close-focussing distance.

Yes it's an absolutely stunning lens, and great photo.

I think i never seen the full potential of my 24-70 until it met my D3, was a brilliant lens on my D200 but it's just out of this world on the D3.

The model, pp and lens is stunning. Brilliant work.

This lens needs to be added to the Nikon Legend stable.

Fantastic work. I don't know whether it is your skill, the lens, the gorgeous model or a combination of all three (most likely the latter) but this is a beautiful image.

Looking at this again, bar the lack of CA, this picture is nothing to do with the lens.

It may have been serendipity but it did you well. I also have this lens and am constantly suprised by its image quality and speed. Beautifully taken portrait. Can't believe how that Uri (microstock fame) thought it not quite up to standard

Not much really, her skin is mostly like the pic naturally. Some smoothing in Lightroom, and some healing brush to finish. The lighting is the key - for this I used a big softbox above and about 4 feet in front.

As nice as this image is, I don't like the colours you have. It's a little too warm for my taste: she has pink teeth, and likewise, the whites of her eyes also suffer from a pink hue.

This is coming from someone who likes warm tones in images, so perhaps a tad too far?

adding a little cyan will clean this image up.......

I appreciate Gary's critical eye. (: How about the reflection of the flash umbrella or whatever in her eyes - is that desirable?
