not really feelin 1 and 2 matt.
#3 is a great shot, love the noisy lomo-esque effect. when i first thought it i thought the twig at the botom right of the tree trunk was a guy walking behind it ! lol
#4 is mesmerising...intoxicating. just something else. wonderful.

and all i get is this crusty freakin' mat to sit on

I like #4 - playing with shadows sums it up nicely....nicely picked up.

I have to admit that I dont see #1 and #2 they seem a bit plain. I do really like #3 though it is brillant, #4 is a bit textbook for me. Nice to see images though!

All 4 for me - minimalist, but stunning - I've missed this :-)

I agree. And I think the toned down contrast really works as well.

I like #1, although it seems low-contrast.

#2 definitely looks washed out. In ACR I'd increase the Blacks slider somewhat.

And what on earth is a "peruser"? I can't see any "people who read things thoroughly" (which is the closest thing I can find in a dictionary) waiting to be critiqued...

Love your work Matt!!!

You have got the eye for "something different" and make "normal" photos look great.

Number 1. This could be shot better from a lot lower and closer angle. The dogs composure and look would suit this shot better I think.

Number 2. Not sure what you were trying to captuere here but I think the focus of the picture is the building, and the old duck in the scooter just adds an unnecessary addition to the story. I would have waited for her to pass. I think the shadows on the steps add enough impact to the picture without the scooter.

Number 3. Looks like it is framed nicely but as a whole it does not draw me in and make me stop and look. I just tend to glance over it everytime i view it.

Number 4. This was well spotted, and as previously said is quite text book, and going with that I think you would get most benifit from this shot by converting to black and white.

Hope im not to harsh. Ive seen plenty of your work on here and its outstanding, just this set has not "suckered me in.

#1 may need a B/W treatment perhaps. The dog looks sad. Maybe it is winter in Melbourne? (I would be sad too). :)

#4 is very interesting and sometimes hard to photograph as the camera's focussing abilities get muddled by the multiple lines etc. Well done.

Thanks all! I enjoy and learn from your comments!
Peruser....a thing to be perused...my definition and it will eventually get put into a dictionary.
Image #2 is a social comment on the lack of ramps for handicapped folk....the stairs, the wheelchair....get it? :D
The dog image works for me....but then I'm a dog lover and perhaps am reading it more instinctively than most of you.
