This is a shot I took in the Hunter Valley last weekend on an overcast afternoon. The original shot was relatively flat so I decided to give it a kick along with a bit of posterisation. What do you think?

What's the processing involved in this posterising business?

My eye is still drawn to the drab sky..wonder what will happen if you add a few subtle streaky clouds...

I think it could use more aggressive posterisation, and I like surenj's suggestion
of some clouds being added.

the big tree adds very little other than take up space........ crop above the umbrella, then you have an image.........

Big Pix this is the cropped version for comparison as you suggested. What do you think?

Surenj, these shots were done using the poster edges filter in CS3. I applied the filter twice.

The partially chopped umbrella is distracting for me, otherwise I'm not sure what posterisation means.

It's amazing sometimes what difference can make. The crop makes your shot really jump out. I'm usre I've been to this place some time in my travels brickwork and vines just look too familiar.

big pix, GREAT idea with the crop! Much much better. Forget the sky and concentrate on the subject.
