I was trying to be creative and I took this picture of Brisbane's skyline from the Storey Bridge in 2006.
What do you make of it?

Zafra,
This looks like the camera was shaken while taking the photo  Going back to the basics, what was your subject? Have you portrayed the subject in a way to evoke the mood that you wanted? Did you cut out distractions?

As a photograph I don't think it's strong enough. But then, one could pass off bad photos as art..... then, no one can critique you....

That's the general idea. I took a photograph but I wanted to be abstract.

Did the earth move for you? :)

I understand what you're trying to do, but there's no focal point in this image. That makes it difficult to "get" for me.

The colours are pretty though.

Even though it doesn't look it, this photograph was done on purpose. The previous ones I took weren't, but this one was.
I just had bought a new lens and I went to the Storey bridge to take night pictures, but as I was taking them the bridge moved with each passing car (and I uttered profanities in tandem) and even with a tripod the pictures were not all that sharp  . So, I took the camera in my hands, set the ISO as low as the camera permitted and waited till a big, big, big, and I mean big truck passed by to release the trigger and - there it is! 8)

A very bad picture, but full of artistic sentiment!
:D :D :biglaugh:

Unfortunately the artistic intent does not really shine through in this one. It is an interesting concept and it is probably worth playing with some more.

Cheers
Cameron PS as already mentioned the colours are nice

Maybe a photo of the passing truck rather than the city would've helped relate the movement to the image.

I think a Photochop plugin that removes any idea of the scence but maintains the colours/lightd might be appropriate here?

It's always worth the try. That's how we learn.

I like this..... like the effect..... being small, does not show the full impact of what you are trying to portray

...... up big and in a frame, this image would sing...... good job
