Taken at Port Noarlunga, SA:

All taken with D3 + Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 ED11 + TC-14EII on a overcast day with occasional light showers. Yes we (Big V & Paul) got wet, but that is the beauty of weather sealed equipment.

C&C welcomed.

Foz,

You've got them very well trained. Formation flying and all that; well done.

The photos ... apart from the fact that they're well composed, nice and crisp, and perfectly exposed, they suck. :)

I especially like the second and fourth of these, where you have the separation of the birds. I think that the separation helps the images just a little. it permits a little more detail to be seen: look at the wing tips in the alpha bird in the fourth image. :)

Looking at the title: so the "Pelican is in flight..." you say?
And?

Oh, "Pelicans in flight..."! Why didn't you say so?

Good work, except in the 3rd I think the overlapping wings do complicate the picture a bit too much.

The first thing I was struck by when looking at these was that you've oversharpened the web JPEGs. It's a shame, as it detracts from what are probably good images. ;)

Very nice work there. I love the lot...if I had to pick the weak link it would have to be #3...there is just too much overlap for me.

Great stuff though!
