nice image Mal with a nice DOF. What lens did u take this with? Wouldn't mind seeing the colour version as well!

Love the texture on the chain... there is some lens flare there... dont know what you could have done to avoid it though...

Mal - I love the concept but IMO I would have focussed more to the front of the pic instead of into it - don’t get me wrong I like it

Geoff I hate to admit but this was taken with a super wide angle attachment from an old studio camera, hense the lens flare MDH. I actually held the wide angle in front of the lens of my camera "Dodgey Bros" as it is known in the TV industry. I would love to have a nice wide angle for the D70... One day.

I like the way you have composed this image and the shift of focus away from the start of the chain which makes one look at the image to take it all in. Would like to see this as a large poster with a bit more contrast to make it a bit more dramatic

Point taken flipfrog but the trouble with the colour one was that the chains were brown and looked more like dog droppings! Well that's what my wife said when she saw the orginals. Couldn't get it out of my head so I went B/W with the shot.

I reckon it looks great in B&W. However i also reckon the DOF is a bit too shallow, not a lot, but a little. The photo is well composed though and is appealing to the eye.

Funny - when I first saw the pic I thought that there'd been a rotweiler or two out for walkies.
