Sea Cliff Bridge & Stanwell Tops

Well, I will get the ball rolling. These 4 images pretty much sum up the round trip for me. Crack of dawn at the bridge, sunrise at the base of bridge, meeting at Bald Hill and walking across a very very secure bridge, ya's seen how many locks they have on it, however they forgot one on that fence to stop those photographers from falling to their fate...

Oh by the way, whos bright idea was sunrise? next time, if i suggest that please put me in my place...

Gerry, These are very nice indeed! You managed to avoid the bad weather!!

Love the HDRs and mostly their cool crops.

Early birds do get their worms... what time did you arrive there?

Great pictures there Gerry...

You have manged to capture great lines in the first two, but i think the first is a tad bright on the RHS, the 2nd however is great...the bridge just leads you into the image.

The 3rd image has nice colours, but I think that there isnt much to punch behind the photo, I have some pictures similar to this from Bald Hill and have also found them lacking. Maybe someone else will be able to create something out of this, there is a lot of potential.

The last image of the locks is my favourite, the DOF control has been used masterfully and the colours look great.

That first image is just a beautiful use of the light and is your reward for being there at the right time. That's half the secret of photography!

As the old adage says - the early bird gets the worm. And in this case you have some tasty morsels indead. In #1 I agree with Cameron about the blown sky. I'd be tempted to just crop a little off the right or clone some cloud over the top. #2 is superb as is. And as has already been said - you've set a high bar. Well done. PS I also like THIS image too

I clocked on about 6:15am, along with Sevencolours who i missed at the lookout, they had the right idea and went for breakfast like most sane people...

overall, looking back at the images a day later, I am a bit disappointed in some of them, the first one could have been so much better if i had correctly exposed it, the cliffs on the left had much more vibrant colours, whereas the image looks bit muted on the left...I really should have gunned for more pano shots rather then HDR images, i have way way too many images to work with now. But hey its all a learnign process, and I am gonna call brain fade due to the stupid hour...

My main challenge from the handgliders was to get an image with 3 gliders lined up, this was the closest I got, i was tryign to convey the silly amount of hanggliders in the sky at any one time. Couple this with about 7/8ths cloud cover gettign a shot wil blue sky was a prize in my book

Thanks for the comments guys, I feel i have cheated a bit here by getting there at dawn, however it has re-inforced to me, again, that getting images in the early morning is soooo much easier...its just the gettign there is the problem (for me anyway)

Thanks to Peter for organising and those who were there, its great to make this more than a bunch of electrons on a screen. Putting faces to names, having a chat and an excuse to do a hobby is great!
