Finally! My 2x2 Stanley Tops picsThanks for arranging a great day out Peter! As usual...a fabulous day with a great bunch of photographers!
This is why they do it. It's just bloody beautiful to be a bird! Stubbsy with some of the usual hard cases. Nice to see Killakoala there! He travelled up from Nowra for the shoot! I love these pine trees! You could hear the wind whistling through the wires Regards

Re: Finally! My 2x2 Stanley Tops picsMatt,
I quite like the first. It gives a bit of context as well as provide with some background interest while retaining good separation with the background.
Re: Finally! My 2x2 Stanley Tops picsGreat to see some pictures from you Matt. I agree with Surenj on the first, quite a unique shot, too bad that the day looks so grey. Can I ask what the guy is carrying???
I am getting more and more jealous about missing out on this meet. Cameron

He is carrying an emergency parachute....an inflatable life raft, small 30 day sea survival kit, GPS, desalinator, first aid kit....the SAS wilderness survival guide, EPIRB and satellite telephone, a Canon G11 and a small diary with first page entry being 'My horrible adventure'....and a Holy Bible. ...and I didnt even notice them. That's the good part about meets like this...participants see different things and see things differently. The haze in the first makes it look as if the background has been desaturated which centres the focus on the paraglider The last is simple but effective

And here was I, thinking that there might have been something as simple and innocuous as a body in that backpack. g.

No some one as paranoid as that would hedge his bets. He would have a Bible, Quran, Rig Veda, Tao, torah,.... NO room for all that other guff Greg
It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Finally! My 2x2 Stanley Tops picsMatt
While I like #1 greatly, there is something really appealing about the odd randomness in that group shot and I think it's the pick of these despite me being in the shot. Peter

well i reckon that hang glider shot is stunning, i love the way the guys arms are spread like the wings of the glider...or appear to be at least! excellent capture with one of the few patches of blue sky, very nice. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Finally! My 2x2 Stanley Tops pics
I agree (Not about you being in the photo Peter, but I) Lovely shots Matt. I agree about the pine trees. They were magnificent. Steve.
