An old Jetty, re worked. Rip it apart

I came across this shot I took some years ago and just had a quick fiddle (in PS and Nik Color Effex) and this is what I came up with. It has had a graduated neutral density filter applied to it and some rather heavy handed saturation, levels and curves adjustment. My skin is thick - sock it to me:

Taken in a lovely little spot called Erowal Bay on the NSW South Coast, about a 10 min drive from VIncentia and Huskisson. We used to holiday here frequently on a yearly basis growing up...ahhhh 'them' were the days...

Maybe it's a bit blue, but this was more a fun/experimental thing to do and would value the thoughts of our members, just because.

both conversions are interesting I particulary like the moody color of the jetty & water in #1 but for some reason the sky color doesn't seem to match - but think I would crop off 2/3 of the sky making the shot square in both cases

Geoff, I think the jetty blends in to the water too much. In the BW it looks to be pasted as the interface is sudden but the texture is similar. [hmm I am not sure whether it makes any sense]
You could blur the water to get rid of this effect.

I don't like the first one. I think the dirty brown banding in the water is a real put-off. Looks like a sewage outlet. (I know it isn't) It reminds me of Indonesia.

The second one is a tremendous difference and is miles ahead of the first. The colour condition you have given it makes it much more interesting.
