Trying to convince Peter (Stubbsy) during the recent meet that he should make the trip to Tassie.

Posting these to whet his appetite;

Steve K (Killakoala) should know where these are :)

I like the swirl in #3. It makes this a very different image.

#4 looks almost like the default Windows XP wallpaper image, but even with that massive disadvantage, it's a great image.

I need to visit Tassie again myself; it's been a very long time.

Mmmmmmm, lettuce. :)

You are making me homesick :(

Seriously though, nice images. The swirl Gary is talking about is great and adds a different dimension to the image. Kind of the 1960s trippy swinging London type of thing that Chris (sirch55) told me about once. :) Or was that Austin Powers? I always confuse the two.

Ahh, Tasmania. Point a camera in any direction and you will take a picture postcard image, as you have done :)

Are you going to hazard a guess where they are Steve?

i will only have a few days in Hobart but I hope to get out and see as much of Tassie as i can

The great part about Tasmania is that you dont have to travel far to see a lot. I took almost 3 weeks but there is still lots I didn't see

I need to visit Tassie again myself; it's been a very long time

I'd go back in a heartbeat. Maybe a different season this time

See some more Tasmania images here

Nice work Ray, far cry from the hills district

I do love the swirl image, very nicely picked! Would you consider a crop on that one, maybe crop the top away to get the sky as 1/3rd? this would draw the viewer straight to the swirl rather then the symmetry of the image, just a thought!

The last image is awesome, as gary said, very winxp desktop background style! Its looks a bit soft though, maybe downsizing has lost some sharpness?

Steve K (Killakoala) should know where these are

That waterfall looks familiar but I cant find it in any of my images from the beginning o fthis year.

I wonder whether the f5.6 had any influence?

The waterfall is perhaps, Victoria Falls?

The bridge is Ross Bridge over the Macquarie River.

The water-scene I am not sure of but it could be Triabunna maybe? The mountains in the background seem familiar but look a bit small to be Maria Island. I don't know....

The last is nigh on impossible to tell, but the soil colour and terrain looks a bit 'northern.' Then again, the best lettuce in Australia is grown near Richmond, but that's south.

Liffey. .....There are plenty to choose from

the bridge is Ross Bridge over the Macquarie River

Correct

The water-scene I am not sure of

Macquarie Hbr adjacent to the Gordon River. Water is mirror smooth and brown coloured so highly reflective. We were lucky as the next day was blowing a gale, freezing cold and heavy rain. They tell me that typical of the west coast

The last is nigh on impossible to tell, but the soil colour and terrain looks a bit 'northern.

Close...They are the fields of Forth near Launceston.
Would've loved to go up in a plane to capture the patchwork effect of the fields but didnt get the opportunity..next time

All up not bad Steve..I tried to make them as obscure as possible rather than post the touristy icons so you have done well :)

All great Ray but I do like the last the most. . .
