Yesterday I went on a picnic with some friends on Ash Island. I also managed to grab a pic or two. Here are four for critique.
I'd be particularly interested on whether the colour or the black and white of the tree at the end is the stronger image.
Thanks for looking.
And a slightly different image in black and white

The colour one doesnt do much for me, but when I look at the B&W I lingered a bit and then realised you got a photo of an Ent. I like it a lot.

B/W as well and looks much better when viewed in the larger version.

The third one doesn't appeal to me, but the b&W and crop of it, makes a very interesting image because it captures your imagination. It looks like an oldman with a hump in in torn clothes, or something more sinister. The other pictures are also very nice with good colours and sharpness.

Hrmmm - that tree looks familiar
Quite like the first flower here - not so keen on the second, but can't really say why I like or dislike either of them.
I actually prefer the colour one of the tree, but I still think my pic of it from last time is better

To be honest Peter, I don't like the tree image in either format. For me, it's just too busy. There is far too much detail in the image for my eyes to focus on any one point of reference, even in the larger version. That said, I do like the B&W conversion. The colour image is a little drab for my liking and the background seems cluttered and untidy. If the tree was alone on a hill, it would be so much better. Shame really, because it's quite freaky looking.
I don't want to sond too negative though. I do like the detail of the pollen in the flower in the first image.
