Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I took this picture with my new 100-400L Canon Lense (that I bought from Poon at a very good price) this afternoon.
I still have to get use to the lens.

Congrats! Interesting picture. Can't help but wonder whether a rectangular crop with more space on the right would be an improvement.

Looks like it can minimum focus reasonably well!

That's NOT a duck!!!

You weren't the person I saw wandering around the Domain/Botanic Gardens with a long Canon by any chance?
It would have been about that size & he was shooting birds. Your Sig says Brisbane, not Sydney but...

Great photo & well spotted.

Thank you guys. I cropped the image to remove unwanted/distracting area. I must admit I enjoyed using the lens, but I have a long way to go yet.
Mr. Darcy, I was around the pond of Brisbane Botanical gardens yesterday afternoon between 3 and 4:30. I am bold on top and with gray hair around the head? The same person you saw? I saw several people carrying slr and big lenses, but I was the only one with a white one. Maybe we should get a badge with the "dSLrUsers".

Congrats on the purchase... I'm sure you'll love the lens.

Love the subject, and love how you have captured the chicks taking a sneak peak at the world. For me I would try and go a little lower to the subject to give more of a sense of being part of the scene... but that's me.

Think it's a great capture - close enough to a duck for me, sure the two of you will be very happy

I think Greg was talking about the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney.

I like the idea of a DSLRusers badge, but probably not a sticker to put on my lenses...maybe a patch to put on my camera bag!
