I wonder if he knows he looks like that when he's playing. Excellent study of an artist at work.

Is that FIVE images???

I really like the first two, you have really captured the moment in these, the next two lose marks as they have too much blur which is rather distracting and the last just has no feel, just FLASH!

Great work Gary, glad to see your work

Steve,

Good question. I don't know, but I just love the intensity.

Cameron,

There's gotta be a few perks involved in running this place. :)

The blur, for me, is a part of the intensity of how Steve plays. There's a couple in the gallery that I didn't cull from the images that are being displayed where the blur is even greater, and markedly so. For instance ...

For me, this is showing the intensity in a vastly different manner than a more static image can show.

That said, I used flash in a number of the images, including the last one, as a direct result of Steve's performance. The stage lighting at this venue was marginal in terms of shooting with the available dark, but that requires the subject to be somewhat static. As you can see, Steve was anything but static!

Some more rippers - this guy is sick. Just a tiny bit of a let down if any, is the window behind. Although im sure it was hard enough snapping these ones as it was without having to worry about that. But maybe keep it in mind for next time.
