showtime..hey all, i've not posted any shots for a while but i have been shooting lots - and most of it on film.
i understand the forum has a focus on digital slr cameras - the following set was shot on film from a russian LC-A camera at the royal melbourne show just a month or two ago. id not been to the show for a number of years, and i remembered what it was like to be a kid and absorb the atmosphere comments and criticisms much appreciated more to come! edit - thanks cam! brentsky Last edited by brentsky on Thu Oct 29, 2009 11:01 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: showtime..I really like this whole set. They have a really cool times gone by kind of feeling. #3 is by far my favourite. Really sums out how a lot of little kids much feel about those giant slides. A looming, ominous monster.

Re: showtime..Cool pics! Very retro, 70's carnie kind of feel... All you're missing is a dude with a giant 'stache!

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Australia? (USA) A: Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross. Come naked.
Re: showtime..Great series there Brent. I love how you have captured the feel of the carnivale whilst displaying the distinct LOMO feel. I would be hard pressed to pick a favourite but #1 and #10 are my picks. PS there is a limit of 4 photos per post...you may want to edit this post of a nasty moderator may do so for you.

Re: showtime..Thanks for the feedback guys, its much appreciated (and unique)
jase - thats exactly what i love about the camera and shooting on film - that feel would not have been achieved by digital capture (without some horrible pp of course) photopotamus - the carnie's were scary! i was looking for a few characters but they were intimidating.. they're a unique bunch they are! heres some more (edit from original post)
Re: showtime..Great images. Really atmospheric.

Re: showtime..I'm with Photopotamus, great retro look and feel to them. Love the colour.
In your first post the first and fourth pics the backgrounds look a little blown out. Taking the shots with the sun blazing away may be working against you. That second shot is brilliant - looks like its outta the 70's. In your second post, I like the shot of the kid looking at the dodgem cars. Great colour, although i'd probably crop the top and remove the mum and maybe the right side and get rid of the attendant. Some great snaps, look forward to seeing more...
