some B&W seascapes. i'm relatively happy with them apart from clipping the highlights especially in the first which is my favourite one. criticisms encouraged pls landscape gurus.

Great stuff Rooz...I love the dynamic that you have captured in this set and the black and white really emphasises the foreboding feel. I really like the first as well. Do you have anything with more sky??

cam, i only have the 24-70 at the moment so i dont have more sky cos i cant go wide enuf. there's that...and there's also the fact that i'm still not very good at composition and "seeing" the scene in landscape yet. i have a feeling i'll be buying the 14-24 again if i can just work out how to effectively put filters on it. luckily the exchange rate is so good i should be able to pick it up pretty cheap.

i printed the first one out with the surfers, the blown white across the centre completely ruins the image unfortunately. that was just a really stupid amateurish error. still kicking myself.

The first two jump out at me, I like the first for teh inclusion of the surfers, as you mentioned the highlights are bit bright but the BW conversion is very nice. As cam mentioned, I would like to see a bit more sky in teh first, this would really draw the eye along that wave to the surfers, at the moment my eyes start from the bottom left and work into the image. That said, i reckon its still fine.

The second image probably rates better than the first after lookign at them again for me, however i come away feeling like i wpuld like to see just a fraction more around the bottom/left and right sides. Given that you might go back to the 14-24 this would have solved this.

the blown white across the centre completely ruins the image unfortunately.

Can I point out that at least your 24-70 gets this wide....mine lives on the front of a DX camera so it is not anywhere near as wide...
