It's been a while since I posted here but I've just upgraded my D70 to a D300s and have a new lease of life taking pictures.

On top of that a trip to Europe is providing some inspiration.

wow....I dont know enough about Israel but I guess it really does show off the diversity of Israel. I guess there must be surf in the Med.

I wish I could say that the D70 was capable of all these shots but I must say that my new D300s gave me a massive advantage.

Many of the shots were in covered market places or at dusk and shot at well over 200ISO. The Auto ISO function was amazing to use. I used my 18-200 as a walk around lens with the ISO set to AUTO with a minimum shutter speed of 1/30 and max ISO of 6400. This meant that I almost never missed a shot and I didn't ever use flash as it would have spoiled the atmosphere.

I must say Jerusalem seems like a photographer's heaven. There are so many photographic opportunities and unique cultural situations of Jews, Muslims and Christians all together in the one city.

I saw a number of what looked like photographic tours, a flock of D3Xs passed at one point with enough gear to kill a small horse (all Americans of course).
