Lightning in Suburban MelbourneI have not posted anything for a while ... Winter was pretty lean in terms of photography for me, but hopefully with the weather getting better, that will change.
Had a couple of nights of lightning storms, so I had to go and try to capture some. Crack and Zoom (Click for larger) Car light trails and lightning caught in the same frame Lightshow I Lightshow II Thanks for looking. Any comments welcomed. Russell

Re: Lightning in Suburban MelbourneThere is a fair bit of noise (blue noise) in the last two....did you turn off your noise reduction?
I quite like the effect achieved in the first...if only there was more lightening. Great efforts Cameron

Re: Lightning in Suburban Melbourne
Thanks for your comments aim54x. I was using bulb as the shutter speed, and triggering shutter (on and off) with infrared remote. I would open the shutter and then wait for a decent burst of lightning, before closing it again. The last 2 were considerably shorter exposures than the first. The last 2 exposures were 15 and 11 seconds. The first shot was 70 seconds. I think the noise you are seeing is that they are underexposed (apart from the bright white bit ), and I boosted the exposure in post on these 2. Russell
