Contre-jour is a far nicer term than backlighting (I had to look it up
).
Trip was quite amazing. Kathmandu is a hive of activity, if you can get past the dust, traffic and pollution, there's something interesting around every corner.
Flew to Lukla and Hiked 20 days round trip to Gokyo, over Cho La Pass to Everest Base Camp and back to Lukla. Tough trekking, but the scenery is so amazing it makes it all worthwhile.
I had a few pano's from the top of Gokyo Ri and Kala Pattar but, given how hard it is to climb those suckers I wasn't really able to time my climb to optimal lighting. I ended up having midday shots which are largely unimpressive.
