Summer approaching...

With summer approaching, so are the afternoon storms. Love this time of year.

Not setup with the right gear anymore for taking lightning shots, but happy with how these came out. Just have to find a more interesting foreground in the future.

Like the effect the GND filter has on the clouds for this one.

Time for me to go inside... bit of a sook when it comes to lightning :)

They're great. What's your shutter speed on the second one?

The 2nd is something deserving of a huge print ..but the filter on the 1st is interesting especially from the horizon up - think I would crop above the red 'fence?' as I don't like the effect it has on green subjects.

nicely done!

I would desaturate + reduce greens in the first. The colours don't suit the mood.

I like the colours in that first one and appreciate how much harder it is to get a day time shot as compared to the relative ease of the night shots. Well done.

Thankyou so much. :!: I was trying to explain today at work that anyone with even a mobile phone camera can catch lightning at night, but it's not as easy to get daytime lightning. The chaps didn't believe me on both accounts. Over 100 frames to get this single shot... continuously adjusting my exposure. Doesn't help when the sun is setting extremely quickly and forcing you to make sure you understand your theory.
