that image has potential, i think you need a bit of PP to bring out its best...

Also, compositionally, i reckon you need a bit more room on the right hand side...ie get some more of that beach in rather than the empty sea on the left...

anyway, here's what i reckon a bit of PP could do for ya image...

both totally different but both have special elements ,
I like the moodiness in the first especially the blue with hint of pink and the silky water , the second shows the lovely colors of the rock as it would appear sun up
perhaps a HDR to combine the two , or a series shot through out the day to show the changing colors (sunrise day and sunset )

I really like the first, a bit dark, a bit blue but very special. Sorry Gerry I feel that your rework has pushed the image a bit too far.

I agree that the first is underexposed.

If I may suggest, a longer shutter and a smaller aperture for maximum sharpness and DOF.
