Post processing question

I did a family shoot earlier this week. I was quite pleased with the results although I haven't got the prints back yet. Here's my question, which will most probably be obvious to those who know these things.

When I opened this raw file in Canon DPP, adjusted the WB to "flash", the skin tones and image detail were excellent. I saved the file as a TIF, then re-opened it in Photoshop CS1, and the image looks completely different eg nowhere near as good. Is CS1 particularly bad at rendering images, or is Canon DPP just good? Or am I missing something altogether here?

Any input will be appreciated, with thanks.

Ozi.

My first thought would be to check the colour space.

Is this the same as "color picker"?

Here are my current settings:

North American General Purpose Defaults
Working space: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
Color management: Preserve Embedded Profiles

Gary you've got me thinking. I changed the RGB settings to "Monitor RGB - VX2235wm calibrated" and it has made all the difference.

Many thanks.
