Fungi

A couple of shots of some fungi found in my compost bin. The spores must have been in some dry material (sugar cane mulch) I added to the mix.

Both shots taken with the Nikkor 60mm micro, fill flash from off camera SB800 to the left of camera.

Lovely detail.

You probably could have gone with a slightly larger aperture to throw the background further out of focus. You could have probably experimented with a lighter background, too.

Nevertheless, a pleasing couple of images.

Lovely use of subtle flash. 2nd is better framed.

The #1 is awkward looking. I think it's to do with the composition.

The #1 is awkward looking.


It is, however, sharper than number two.
Number two seems to have very shallow depth of field.
Personally, I find number 1 a more interesting image
than 2, however, I think it needs some judicious cropping
to improve its framing.
