Duck (It's been a long time)

It's been who knows how many months since I posted anything. In part due to a lack of time, in part due to a lack of photos and in part 8 weeks OS!
The latter has produced a pile of photos to sort and with any luck a handful of keepers. I didn't produce as much as I might have, preferring to just enjoy the trip, but I have found a few I like. Anyway, it seemed appropriate to make my first post back one of the apparent favourite subjects around here.

Welcome back.

Ducks are our favourite subject.

I suggest cropping the top25% and right 15% to give duck some space to walk into.

I think you will have work hard to make this photo special. With ducks I suggest going for any flying , fighting behaviour with some water.
Perhaps getting down to their level may help.

Other ideas maybe to get really close with a wideangle/fisheye etc.

Quack....I think I should go out and shoot some ducks as well....I have a slightly different duck shot (Crispy Skin Duck from Chachi's in Kiama) that I took last night....wonder if the ducks were related....

Thanks!

Surenj, I see what you mean about giving him some space. This was actually a crop of the original, so I've given him some more space and I think it looks a bit better. Alas I forgot to upload it so can't post here until later.

I think you are also right that this one is in the average bucket, getting down to his level is a great suggestion and I don't know why I didn't think of it at the time. He was happy to wander around in front of us for a while and I had ample opportunity!

I had a lovely dinner at Chachi's once a couple of years ago, but can't recall what dish I had. Perhaps I need to get back and try some duck. Last good duck I had was at a place in the Barrington Tops but I can't for the life of me recall the name!

Cheers.
