Hi All,

I took this pic a couple of days ago and noticed some noise in the back ground, the D70 was on auto iso, anyhow suggestions welcome.

Hi Trevor Good capture, it seems you may be a victim of high expectations--how dark and what time was it?The pic is very dark which should mean 1-Enviriment 2-Settings
so check the full Exiff also for things like spot metering of apature, the answer will be here for you to discover or it was so dark you should be happy with a usable print.Also have you run it thro PS as tis can perform wonders--jim

Hi Jim, yep was fairly dark, I had the camera set at F5 1/60 Focal length 66mm, I also had the flash on to try and pick it up a bit, I think photoshop may be needed before printing though.

I'd tend to agree with Jim here, most likely this was taken with a high ISO and the result in the background is to be expected. It's not bad noise and perhaps with a little noise reduction you'll hardly notice it. Noise also shows up much less in print.

Only other suggestion I'd make is to to level the horizon - as a serial crooked horizon shooter I am loving the angle tool in Lightroom that makes that job really easy.
