In the 2nd - are you able to brighten up the grapes a touch? They are getting slightly lost.

Ahhhh memories, I know it's supposed to be about the photos, but did you do all the walks in the Cinque Terre? I partic like that photo, mostly becasue of the memories is evokes for me!

I love the sunbeams in the St Peter's dome. It adds a different dimension to it. I also like the last image. Although I have never been to Italy, the old run-down feel to the buildings seems to evoke what I consider to be the epitome of Italy.

When you go to Italy, Le Cinque Terre is an absolute must-see. I fell in love with the area when I first visited it in Y2K. World heritage listed, with olive groves, grapevines, the Med and cliffsides, and five postcard pretty villages. I have seen some of the villages featured on those large travel posters that you see around the traps, and with good reason.

This is where I would like to retire to.

Tomorrow, if possible.

I only did the main walk from one end to the other. We stayed in Riomaggiore so caught the train up to Monterosso at the other end a walked back. Some of the earlier sections were very challenging, well for me anyway, but it was all extremely beautiful and rewarding.

I too would agree with your sentiments about the area - it was a highlight of my 8 week and 8 country and I cannot wait to go back. There is a little bit of everything, great bars for a cocktail, music, scenery, beaches (admittedly pebble) amazing little streets like this and some of the best pesto I've ever eaten, about 1/3 of a jar I have to go!

I would suggest anyone who makes it as far as Italy and doesn't pay a visit has sold themselves short! I am glad I found out about before I went.
