On holidays this week, so I decided to visit the Adelaide Zoo. All the 'BIG CATS' were very sleepy...so I decided to stay with the male Lion for the best part of 4 hours, in the hope of capturing different shots which paid off IMO. This is the natural progression of the day's shooting:

Equipment used: D3 + Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/2.8 ED11 + TC-14EII + SB-900

C&C welcomed.

Hi,
I have several like #1 but the other 3 are very nice and definately worth the wait. Did they have him in the large enclosure ?

Beautiful, Fozzie!!

Tom and I got some (hopefully) nice lion pics at Melbourne zoo last week... I will put them up soon

Two and three are wonderful. Three is good, but I don't like the blades of grass in front of his face. I wish I had your patience.

Love the classic profile shot but the pensive look in the last is the winner! Your efforts have indeed paid off.
