Had a great day, catching up with some of the old faces and meeting some new

Wendall wasn't the only one to get dive bombed by the gulls
manual focused at 3m and waited

Andrew (ATJ) not behind bars but as close as we could get (not bad for ISO 1600 on a D70 sensor)

lathe in one of the old rooms
Image

the sight that greeted me as I got off the train at Circular Quay Station
as this was taken before the comp was announced I wasn't able to use it (Wendall's shot still would have kicked my but)

That boken in the lathe shot is soo creamy, i love it..nice work... I also really like the shot of the cruise liner thru the window, a different take and a good one at that...

Keith, I love the gull shot. The sharpness of the gull with the out of focus background is lovely. It is a pity about the pole in the background. The water tower is not a problem for me, just the pole with the lights.

The lathe shot is great, too.

That was one mother of a ship.

Love that gull! That is masterful focus indeed.

The lathe has such creamy bokeh....

:agree: but I think this shot makes the ship look relatively small.

I quite like the gull and the manual approach certainly got better results than my attempts with AF, will file that in my mental bag of tricks!

#4 is great thought, different and engaging perspective of the ship.

Keith

These images are of your usual high standard. The shot of the liner is my pick - inspired composition, well processed.
