I didn't see one cockatoo on the island, but there were a lot of silver gulls,

Here's just 2 of them and their two eggs. And boy did they hurt my ears with their squawking while I took photos of them and the eggs.

These look slightly overexposed esp the last one.

I quite like the effect on the first though. It works well in high key color scheme.

Does anyone know when the breeding yeafor these gulls are? They were sitting on eggs earlier in the year when I was at Cockatoo island...about 3 months ago.

They do get very loud, but I wasnt attacked back then either, and there were thousands of breeding pairs

According to Wikipedia it is August to December, which is supported by some of my books.

Plus bacon and toast for a nice ol cookup. Add salt and pepper to taste.

So you're suggesting that in fact two overnight stays on Cockatoo Island are called for, with the second one perhaps in October, to take advantage of the fresh eggs, or perhaps the fresh spatchgulls, on offer? :)
