Yes there is more than just lies that lie beneath....

Thanks for the suggestion Gerry.

As usual, I would love your feedback.

Edited version : Thanks for all your suggestions!

The terminator underneath is copyright Warnerbrothers. I hope they don't mind as long as I don't sell this picture.

Hi Suren

I prefer the original version to this one.

:agree:

The other one had more of a 3-D appearance, which this one doesn't quite achieve. Good concept again, and clearly, Suren, you're having fun. Nothing else matters. :)

The problem because part of the robot appears under the flesh, but then as the eye moves around it appear to be super imposed on the face as a kind os plastic mask. It needs to appear as if part of the flesh has been torn and the robotic nature shows underneath.

Interesting you guys say that because most of the elements in the first was real; including the mask. IMHO it's not that hard to make something look real if you understand the shadows. I am slowly learning...

I'll think about how this has been solved on the poster versions to see what is different about mine. I have deliberately added shadows to show depth and burnt areas of skin to the whole body to show that this terminator has taken a bit of a beating..

Again, thanks for your invaluable opinions!! I will work on this over the weekend and see what I can comeup with.

And here was me thinking that was your natural tan

Suren,
THe shadows work on the RHS (ear) , but they are on the wrong side on the LHS (around the nose)
Think about it If you see one set as shadow, you shouldn't see the other set.
Also, why is the skull smiling, but the lips are not? THis is what probably bothers me most about this.

Thanks for this tip. I realise what you are saying but struggled to make the changes to look realistic.

I have posted the edited image at the top of the thread...

The second image looks better, but I would still feather the right edge a bit more.

A huge improvement Suren.
Some more ideas:
The shadow at the top should taper in to the skin rather than end abruptly
The shadow at the right should mirror the skin. After all that is what is casting the shadow.
The skin seems too far out from the substructure. Perhaps some gristle or muscle to explain it.
