Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Thought i'd take my 10-22mm out at sunset and see if i could get any reasonable shots of my girlfriends horse...
Didn't take him long to get annoyed with the flash.  I like this shot. I'm a little disappointed i didn't pay more attention to the focus points as it looks like the focus is forward of the eye a little.   I picked up a 580EX II, wireless transmitter/receiver (thanks for the advice surenj  ) and a shoot through umbrella kit this week so i thought i'd give that a try as well...

Adam, I love the first one for it's great perspective and composition. With a subject like this, I think it's ok that your focus maybe off. [unless you can reshoot?
 ]Dude, did you really take an umbrella and a light stand to photograph a horse??  That's worse than me in terms of lugging lights around the place!!Hope your umbrella didn't fly off too much. The last shot needs a little rim light to outline the horse. Also the angle isn't too flattering. Too bad you are not in Sydney. Otherwise we could have had some fun with the lights!

This fella is 17 hands something high so for me it's a case of trying to work with what he's doing. Without someone to help me i was just chasing him around the paddock.
Luckily it's in the country so not to many people would've seen this strange man chasing a horse with a white umbrella on a pole.

"you saying i'm fat?" I like teh concept of the first image, but i think you need the nose in the shot as well, nonethelless its a shame that eye is not in focus - that shot must have just about had his nose on the lens of that 10-22  gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

It was pretty close alright.
I had difficulty getting on his nose because he'd then push at me to investigate what i was doing. The camera sounds had him intrigued. Every time i took a shot his ears would fly up.
