Two angles on the same subject. Boy is that a big ship!
This one was a challenge. The idea was to frame the ship against the harbour foreshore somehow to give an idea of it's scale. I have a strong preference for one of these images (not saying just yet), but would appreciate your take on which is more effective (and why). Thanks in advance.

I prefer the composition of the 2nd. It is almost looks like it is meant to be there, and almost becomes a building in its own right.
I think it shows the scale more than the first, becuase it is futher away, and bildings are a similar distance away. Some of the clouds do look a little (only a little) bright in the second though.

I'll go against rflower. I prefer the first one is more iconic of Sydney. You can see the scale because the ships dwarfs the little white tents and a few people on the wharf. The second picture although you have the the tall buildings on the backgrownd does not convey a true sense os scale because those buildings are too far away and it also it gives me the impression it was taken with a telephoto lens, which has flatten the image perspective. Having said all of that and demonstrated my profound ignorance quite well, I like the sharpness and colours in both pictures.

It's not an easy choice which one is better for scale. For visual impact I prefer the 1st.

I like the 1st one. It appears that the ship is bigger. I think this is due to the the angle.
The 2nd is interesting with all of the windows in both the buildings and the ship. It probably show the scale better.

Nice work Peter.
I like both for different reasons but I think my slight preference is the first one. You nailed the perspective with this one and the scale is clear and easily identifiable. I like the inclusion of the small (minute in comparison!) harbour ferry. Your processing of these is up to your usual high standard..the are crisp and clean and the contrast is spot on. I think P&O would be interested as a promo shot of this one..wouldn't hurt sending them a watermakred low res image of it and see if they'd be interested in buying it!!
