Zermatt, Switzerland - C and C appreciated

Hi everyone

I was reading a photography mag (ahh, the joys of holidays!) and read about creating HDR images with one image... so had a go. Basically saved same image in Camera Raw at different exposure settings and HDRed them.

Any thoughts appreciated :-)

Zermatt... Switzerland

Think it was just a little to much the sky in both images just doesn't look right, as if they have been cut and pasted.

It's good fun playing around with it, did you use Photomatrix or a different program?

Hi.... I had that thought about the sky as well... will continue to play. Photomatrix was my weapon of choice. I can't work ut how the batch processing works though... so if you have any tips..!!
Thanks for looking :-)

For a Pseudo HDR I normally just use File/Open and let Photomatrix convert the image from there I go to HDR/Tone mapping and work my magic :)
It does take some time but hey that is the fun right

Cathy I agree with Craig the sky seems a bit much in both, also wondering if a slight straightening of the buildings might be in order, they seem to have a little lean to me

Hi Glen, I had exactly the same thought and have now replaced the images with straighter ones!! I have a habit of taking photos that lean!!!

I find these really beautiful and almost fairytale like. I quite like the sky in the first!
There is a bit of light that doesn't quite fit with the rest of the scene in #1 around the mid left side.... Compositionally #4 is the weakest.

I don't think the HDR is particularly overdone; I can't see any of those dreaded halos.

You have been to some beautiful locations. Would love to see more.

I likethe light in #2 the most, with the large shadows detracting from #1

I quite like the last image, I would however, as mentioned, rework the sky (top RH) on the image to get some more light up there to make it look more balanced.

I would love to see a similiar image taken with the path more as a leading line, say maybe those other lowers further down in the image? Nonetheless, very nice...
