PHEW! well thats probably enough, there was more on the roll (20 more) but for sake of bandwidth ill leave them off for now.

Im pretty happy with the results, although many of them had dark corners due to stacking the UV and CPL on the end of the 20mm. Cant wait to get some of them off in print!

JD,

how much was the scans from Camera House?

How big were the files that they scanned?

Were they in JPG format? BTW you first flower shot is great!

thanks huynhie, i find daisies most interesting to shoot!

um it was $22 for e6 processing (they have to send it away) and to put it on a CD. I think around $10 of that is for the cd, file sizes are on average 600kb in JPG format.

Scanner seems to try to colour correct some of them and wash them out.

Looking fwd to maybe buying a film scanner one of these days.

A nice collection of shots. I notice between my first look and now you've edited the post (first you had all the images embedded and now you have all links).

I'd suggest you go for the middle ground and embed a few of your favourites and link the rest just to whet our appetites.

oh ok, i finally made some time to make it tidier
good suggestion though, didnt really want everyone having to load all 2.25mb of images when they opened the thread!

thanks stubbsy :)

looks lovely on slide!

I know what you mean... It's long time I haven't shot slides, but I enjoy looking at my old ones from time to time. It's a pity it's so expensive to process in Australia though :(

Link.

rubbish i say! I get a UK photo mag and the prices in there, even for enlargements are ridiculousy cheap! - as well as e6 processing / printing. Camerahouse is like $5+ for 1 standard 6x4 print from a slide!

I should have done more photography in england, when i was there, I was only 30 mins away from the lakes district...

JD,

were you happy with the way your slides were processed?

If not I'll PM you with a place in Sydney. It'll cost you AUD17.90 processed and mounted. If you hand in the film before 9am then it should be back the next day. They send it away to Photo King in Randwick.

They seem to be processed well, but then again im not sure what to look for to pick up poor processing...

i guess if i was really picky i could send them up to Erina, NSW to created for life. Its basically the print company that prints off Ken Duncan's images. (He set up the company because he wasnt happy with how anyone else printed his works)

they print on Ilfochrome Classic, and if you've seen any large KD prints, looks stunning! rather pricy, but KD says on his DVD - creative photography made simple, they will yield the best results and you will be blown away by what they can pull out of your images!

looks like they (CFL) charge $9.68 for 135/36 ($9.79 mounted) with a service time of 48 hours, and they will freight it back to you for additional freight charges. Will ring up and check how much their print from E6 costs are. They also do clip test of your rolls for $7.59.

CFL also offers scanning up 301-650mb file sizes from transparencies and negatives (high end drum scanning) although its $165 each! or from 1-20mb - $27.50.

"The printers at CFL are artists in their own right, as no one else I know puts such a degree of love, passion, and quality into photographic printing. Once you've had a print done by CFL you won't go anywhere else. Their ongoing commitment to exploring new technologies ensures that they will always be the leaders in high-quality printing." - Ken Duncan

He's doing a workshop in africa - http://www.kenduncan.com/photoseminars/africa2005/africa.htm next month, but its all booked up. 15 nights in africa shooting with KD! Anyone got a spare $14k??

KD also runs a photography course up on hamilton island - http://www.kenduncan.com/photoseminars/hamilton2005/hamilton.htm for 5 nights in July 2005 - $2.5k pp. I nearly went on this July last year, hopefully in the future!

My rant for now
