Gorgeous colours, as you said. What an amazing sight to photograph. Is it my imagination or are all but the groom in the first picture women?

Yep, he was surrounded by a sea of female colour. Poor Raj, he looked as miserable as can be. I think the oven like conditions had something to do with it.
One of the MCs was directing me as to what he wanted photographed, so I just did as I was told. It was fun. The Indians don't stop to pose for photos, you just have to click away and hope your timing is good. They are very gracious and hospitable people. All in all a great experience.

I think 1 and 2 are my favourites here. Great timing on both and great capturing of the personality and feelings of the moment.

Thanks for the comments. These are unprocessed jpgs from the 5D. I think some tweaking of the raw files may even make the colours pop a tad more, but I'm leaving that job up to someone else.

Oz,
Beautiful images of an important personal and cultural event. Well done.
As you say, great colours, but this goes beyond the colours: the richness of the clothing, the designs, etc, is just wonderful, and well captured in these images.
On the third image ... crop it square, removing the headless torso on the lh side. I don;t think that it adds anything to the image, and the crop will help to focus attention on this delightfully pretty and precious young lady.
How much for ze women? How much for ze little girl?

I can see the banished males just outside the door.
Great pics ozi. Were you allowed to use flash? Which lens were you using mostly? 24 70?
Love the new square crop on the little one.

Actually, the males (as in many cultures around the world) sat on the other side of the building.

No problems with flash. 24-105 was the only lens I took in. I was travelling light with the extreme heat inside the temple.
