OK, so this is a quick first attempt at star trails from our recent trip...

Matterhorn during the night...

Any C&C appreciated, nothing done as yet except blending the images together

Very nice work, love the trails. I do think it would be very nice if the rock is a bit more exposed (maybe some photochop is called for)

Would be easy if he made a longer (say on bulb) exposure for the rocks. Otherwise photochop will struggle to find detail on the underexposed areas.

Nice Tom,
Did you do more images or was the 1/2 to one hour all you managed?
Nice subject also

We were staying in a hotel ata place named Gornergrat - at 3100 metres above sea level - taken from through the window of the room .. since it was -4 celsius during the day - I was glad to be able to stay in the room .. although having the window open all night wasn't that good!

I have around 5 hours worth I think over the course of the night - this was a 30 odd minute test somewhere in the middle of it all, I think I also have another photo with the same image but longer exposore, so might be able to mix the 'rock' from that into this one. Will put it up when done

Side note... the things we do for photography.... sleeping in the highest hotel in the Swiss Alps with the window open!!! :-) All worth it though!
