I didn't get many keepers from this shoot. I felt that the compositions were quite poor especially when I looked at them on my computer.

I also struggled with the HDR or blending because the changing waves made it harder to combine the shots.

So I have gone for a different look rather than the typical sunrise colors etc.

Your thoughts are much appreciated as ususal. I hope everyone is keeping safe during the festival season.

Nice to see your shots from that morning Suren, I reckon this one is quite nice and suited for BW, I like the contrasty BW, however is it possible to tone down the exposure before convertign to BW? The whites come across at bit blown and I feel the scene would benefit more from a moody dark shot - thoughts?

In terms of composition, this shot is fine and dandy imo. the main subject of the rock at the centre and the coastline leading away to an infinite point all works well.

I would tone down the bright areas of the image a touch, otherwise a good conversion and suited to this image.

Thanks Gerry and Geoff for your comments. I will have a look at my PSD file and see whether I can recover some of those highlights and post the result.

It looks fine on my screen and the rocks look so sharp that they cut your vision. Howeve, I fail to see the sunrise in it. Maybe tides would be a more appropriate name? PS That is the trouble with computer screens, unlike a printed picture on a wall not two of us see the same thing.

I am still seeing some detail on the rocks. Hmm.. Maybe I will make a print of this to see what transpires.

yep, This scene could have captured in daylight with a 8 or 10 neutral grad filter. No need to wake up at 0400. Alas we didn't get a sunrise that day. The sun managed to hide behind the clouds quite well!

You make a gret point. That is why I am trying to get my monitor calibrated first to see whether there is enough difference for me to invest in a permanent calibration device of the sorts.
