Abstract

It's been so wet outside the past few days, thought I would have a play around in the studio to see what I could come up with using wireless flash.

These are quite different.....abstract is a word that is used nicely here. Can I ask what you used as subjects?

Candlewax? Like the first two, the third one looks more manufactured than the first two.

Very interesting work. I think the second it's the best of the three.

The subject matter is indeed candle wax. I had three candles on a tray, one each of lime green, light blue and dark blue, once lit they all melted into one another, so I let them harden off after extinguishing them and then removed the slab of wax and photographed them with some forward and backlighting. The 'jewels' are some translucent beads which were on the candle holder tray.

Love this idea Geoff.

I can't decide between #1 and #2. I think #1 is more abstract in a sense and would do quite well printed up large in square format.
