Finally the sun came out today. 120kms gale expected tomorrow in Wellington. The crazy NZers are out swimming and sunbathing in 17C temperatures! Anyhoo, here's a few more photos of spectacular Mt Egmont:

Love the first 2, the last one looks a little faded for a better word

:agree:

I would clone out that palm tree..... spoils the image for me, but then I don't like palms.

That first one is a classic - crazy sheep! the second is nice but the very light blue colour in the sky does not rock my world, maybe darken that colour alittle?

The last one would look awesome as a pano style, crop away grass and a fraction of the sky!

I actually like palm trees and was thinking of cloning another one INTO the image...

I think the first one is iconic of NZ. Love it.

It's not a palm tree it's a tree fern, and thats how big they grow in the Taranaki !! the closer to the mountain the bigger they grow I.E. much more rain. You want to see how big the Rhododendrons get.

First one is POW I believe. What a great sight. Any chance of the EXIF info for this one? I am guessing 200mm focal length. Or is it just the 105?

I would get rid of the halos. Love the tree palm. keep it.

Get rid of the last one. It's cramping your style.....

I think the tree-fern adds a prehistoric, Jurassic feel to the image. Clone out the house instead. :)

Steve, I never even noticed the house. I think I will remove it. Maybe I should clone in a teradactyl or something similar.

Hmm, perhaps you could also clone out Mt. Egmont, and sustitute a more attractive mountain, say Mt. Fuji?

Oh, and what about dropping in a couple of UFOs flying past while you're at it?

Please excuse my sarcasm, but for heaven's sake people, this is what it looks like when you're standing there!

Cheers

No dramas, but I'm pretty easy going when it comes to my images. Leave them alone or change them into something ridiculous, it's all fine by me, as long as we have fun in the process, which is what photography, for me, is all about.

Actually, the UFOs might be interesting... :D

I quite like #2, and I like the palm. It gives a nice counterpoint to the mountain, and also give you a nice left to right gradient of size. I also think it offers a nice contrast to the other vegetation, so again, things seem to graduate left to right, ending with the grassy fields. I also like the use of HDR, we've been seeing some nice HDRs lately and this is another that breaks down my more general dislike of the technique. Lastly, I really like the strong leading line of the creek, not sure it could work without it.
