Jamon, jamonI took this almost candid photograph
in January 2005 at a familiar gathering. I like his attitude and flamboyance.
Re: Jamon, jamonFine candid shot - it seems to capture an interesting moment at a family gathering.
Two points - preparing food smoking a cigar is a rare thing these days, - and "Jamon Jamon" was the name of an early Penelope Cruz film, which I am sure you knew. Once seen, never forgotten! TFF (Trevor)

Re: Jamon, jamonTouche' - Trevor. The man in the picture
is a character and a half. He owns a tiny little shop which he fitted like a pub. It's his private domain where women only visit when invited . There he holds his drinking sessions with good wine, excellent food - and very loud music.
Re: Jamon, jamonHe certainly looks like he would play by his own rules, you have captured this.
Canon
Re: Jamon, jamonVery good candid photograph. I just want to know what the jamon tasted like - looks like it has been smoked for a long, long time.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: Jamon, jamonHe certainly plays his own rules.
A friend of mine described him as a Spanish version of Groucho Max. The ham is a typical Spanish ham called Jamon Serrano de Pata Negra "Wild Ham of black leg" like the Italian Parma Ham is raw, but cured and the pigs were left wandering on the hills feeding on acorns. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jam%C3%B3n_ib%C3%A9rico
Re: Jamon, jamonThis image proves that there's no ham like an old ham.
Rather than an Italian parma, this looks to me to be more like a prosciutto. But what do I know. Except that a ciabatta would accompany this very nicely, thank you very much. g.
