Dusky Langur MonkeyDusky Langur Monkey taken at the Adelaide Zoo - I know, crap lighting and blowing hightlights to buggery, but it's the best I could do with what I had Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

Re: Dusky Langur MonkeyI'm not so sure any of that matters.
The subject is evenly lit with no really dark or bright areas. Yes, the background is blown out but there's nothing of importance to the image in those areas IMO.
Re: Dusky Langur MonkeyI think you have done very well with the conditions. That tail is amazing. I didn't know they made them that long.

Re: Dusky Langur MonkeyThe body of the monkey does look a little dark to me.
Did you play around with the settings in ACR? I normally change the tone curve from "Medium Contrast" to straight, and add some post fill-light (lighten the darks). I notice you haven't changed the white balance, 4550K is fairly cool but looks like it works with this shot. Daniel Nikon D4, D2Xs, D70, Nikkors and Sigmas lenses from 10 to 400mm

Re: Dusky Langur MonkeyThese are hard to shoot unless you get there really early in the morning or very late in the afternoon. Good pose though
