As far as WB goes, I don't see an issue with them being different unless you want to make them a set. It's not uncommon to process
model shots quite differently.
#1 I quite like. I agree with your assessment of the shadows, I'd like to see a little fill on the shadow side of her face to soften the shadows under the nose and chin. The hot spot doesn't bother me as much, but yes, could be reduced. I like the warm balance you've gone for, it gives a nice contrast to the cooler background and helps her stand out. I don't see an issue with her not being a part of the scene. It's a
model shot, it's about her, the scene is nothing more than a backdrop and a nice one at that. The depth of field has been nicely controlled as well.
#2 doesn't do as much for me. I like the pose and location, but it's the colours that I'm not liking. You've pushed them away from natural I'd say, but I don't think it works here. The colours in the behind the scenes shot are more pleasing and I'm going to guess closer to reality since you probably didn't process it. Also as mentioned her side on the right is lost in the background which is partly exposure, and partly timing - if that white water wasn't as pronounced it wouldn't happen as much.
Oh and welcome to the forum, hope you hang around, I suspect you have some great images to come.
