Those of you in Sydney may have heard we have been having an exceptionally wet time of it today (So far about 95mm since 09:00 most of it in an hour about 16:00) All the usual: landslides, train derailments, flooding, accidents.

Anyway it coaxed this VERY noisy fella out
I tried moving the leaf, but he hopped away.
Image

The only half way decent shot I got after he moved. Yes I know I blew the focus, but hey it was raining, and I was trying to juggle camera, flash and umbrella. Even with Pam's help it was difficult. If I had nailed the focus I think it would have been a winner.

Cry is "birdlike" Similar character to a crow, but MUCH higher pitched (Imagine a crow breathing helium)
Any ideas on who he is?
Any ideas on how to do this better (I don't have a wetsuit)

Nice one,
I know we have one up here called the mountains bleeting tree frog. He does noy sound like a crow on helium though, more like an oversized cricket.
We have at least four different calls going off here at the moment, noisy little buggers.

Under the circumstances, I think you've done well. I reckon there are about 1,000,000 of the blighters outside my house tonight (North Nowra). They are more of a mass choir than a chorus. I wonder where they go when it's dry?

I don't think its too far off, the stuff in the foreground in front of his foot looks really sharp and his eye is not too far behind (sharpness terms).

I tried moving the leaf, but he hopped away.

lol, i was looking at a frog not so long ago and I could not get the little bugger to move, bar smacking him with the camera  he had no issues having the lens stuck in his eye then blinded by the flash... :rotfl2:

maybe you one was a shy kinda frog

A good effort greg and kudos for getting out in the wet!

I think it is a good shot of a frog in its habitat.
