Excellent sunsets. Even at that ISO the pictures seem
remarkable free of artefacts. I lke the colours and the
light effect.
Are you happy with your 7D? I heard the camera had some
issues, specially with its raw format. I hope by now they are
resolved. I am considering either a 7D or a 5D, eventually.
Anyway, I will be looking forward to see more of your
pictures with that camera and different lenses.

I ran the images through Dfine to reduce the noise. At the above size it's not so noticeable. Full size is a different story.
I'm happy with my 7D so far. I haven't had a chance to really try it out yet.
I believe the problems with the raw format were because LR2 and ACR would open the files, but the files weren't officially supported. Now there's 7D support in LR2.6 and ACR5.6 so it's fine. I haven't had any issues with LR2.6.
I was considering the 5D MkII also. For me i decided on the 7D because:
- Higher frame rate (sports).
- Faster AF (sport).
- APS-C so i could keep my 10-22 i brought towards the end of last year.
- $1000 cheaper. I like photography, but i couldn't justify that much extra for a body.

I guess I am going through the same train of doubts.
I have some very good lenses that cannot be used with
the 5D. But I feel that my 30D just hasn't got the ISO
range. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I think you'd be happy moving from the 30D.
I've read of people noticing big improvements once upgrading from the 40D and older cameras.
I moved from a 450D so the jump is HUGE for me!

Well you certainly have shown that high iso can be used. Nice results and a good job of removing any noise.

Thanks.
I'm not sure if doing it in HDR makes the noise better or worse.
I guess it's combining 3 photos into 1 so i'm thinking it would compound the noise. Does anyone know?
