Blue Moon part 1Tonight is the first of the two full moons we get in March this year. Astronomers count it if it is still visible past 12 and it will be, so here is the full moon that rose when it was Feb but will set when March. I am hoping the weather is clear for the next one on at the end of March to complete the set. Second one has the saturation bumped up to show the different mineralisation that occurs on the moon. Taken with the 400 and a 1.4x on it.

Re: Blue Moon part 1You should change your moniker to Astroboy, or maybe Dr Oliphaunt
Great photos as usual. The Bumped one is really interesting. I had no idea. Don't forget the 80A filter next time Greg

Re: Blue Moon part 1Why thank you. If you are in town this weekend we could go to the observatory Sunday night and you can have a go at it.

Re: Blue Moon part 1Oh wow.. they are great..
I must admit to a little jealousy though as much to my disgust I have never managed to get even one semi decent shot of the moon.. The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
