Spurred on by Wendel's recent zoom work I thought I would have some fun with my Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye, one of the few zoom fisheye's around. I am not 100% sure if I like the results so I thought I would get your opinions.

thats a crazy zoom effect cam. the first is the strongest cos something is relatively sharp and the rest zoomed. its a very tough technique and i really like the fishy effect with it.

#1 for me - for the same reasons Rooz said - Love it

I actually own the Zoom-Fisheye available (not counting the optically identical Pentax 10-17) the Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 which I decided to purchase due to its unique ability to cover both the DX (10mm) and FX frame (from 14mm onwards) as a fisheye. Its a neat little lens that is nice and sharp when stopped down to 5.6 without extreme drop off on the sides/corners.

What I suggest you try is to combine a "straight" shot with a zoomed shot so you get something dead sharp in the middle of the zooomed shot.

I reckon the first one is kinda cool. Maybe the center is focused a little better due to the fact the bloke is moving towards you as you zoomed out? Alternatively and possibly more correct; I have no idea.
