Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Not really a DSLR
I recently purchased a Leica rangefinder camera with a few lenses and have spent the last few days getting used to manual focus. The rangefinder focus system is easier than I expected and the lenses are really sharp.
I am going on a few overseas trips over the next couple of months and couldn't be bothered lugging around my Canon 5D MKII with its heavy lenses. Rangefinder cameras are much smaller, lighter and the lenses are tiny in comparison. It will be interesting to see how the image quality compares to my Canon. Here are a couple of shots taken today at Norwest Park. 35mm Lens f/4.0  50mm Lens f/5.7  'Tis better to have loved and lust than never to have lust at all.

Hi Bob, I didn't really have to wait at all, I was at a conference in Innsbruck and walked into the local camera shop (Miller Optik) they happened to be the Leica dealer and had a new M9 in stock so I sort of bought it on impulse (along with a few lenses). When I got back to Australia I spoke with the local importer (Adeal) and they tell me they might not have any more until May.....

As a fellow Leica owner (not that I use mine often enough), what lenses did you pick up ?
And congrats on the purchase, I found it took a while to get use to doing more thinking for myself rather then the camera doing it (but mines manual everything!).

By the time I paid for the camera I could only afford the less expensive lenses in the Leica range. I picked up the following:
35mm f/2.5 Summarit-M 50mm f/2.0 Summicron-M 75mm f/2.5 Summarit-M 90mm f/2.5 Summarit-M 'Tis better to have loved and lust than never to have lust at all.
